Sapphire and diamond ballerina ring. Set with a square step cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back four claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.80 carats, surrounded by eight marquise shape brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats and four rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.40 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.20 carats, to a ballerina cluster ring with linear openwork gallery, shaped backholing and tri-split shoulders which taper through to a grooved shank. Tested 18 carat white gold, circa 1960, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78156-72.
