Edwardian ruby and diamond ring. Set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced ruby in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.75 carats, bordered by and set to shoulders with twelve round old cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.10 carats, to an oval cluster with scalloped edging, a pierced and engraved gallery, open backholing and fancy shaped smoothly conforming shoulders with further decorative engraving to the sides and a slim D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker's mark, English, circa 1905.
