Edwardian Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.75 carats, further set with twelve round old cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.10 carats, to an oval cluster featuring scalloped edging, a decoratively pierced and engraved gallery and open backholing, leading to inwardly tapering shoulders with scrolled engraving to the sides and flowing through to a smooth D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker's mark, English, circa 1905, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #18035.
