Early gold ring set with ancient mosaic glass. Set with a circular dark blue ancient mosaic glass disc to centre in a closed back rubover setting to a heavy shield shape surround, conforming to the finger with an intricate repoussé of a standing ibex to the bezel, with angular shaping on the shoulders and continuing down the tapered solid shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 18th century.
