Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.14 carats, flanked by eight round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.08 carats, to an elegant solitaire design with a finely pierced collet, fancy shaped backholing and sloping shoulders continuing down to a solid slim D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1940, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5776-6365.
