Set with a round old mine diamond in an open backcut down setting with a weight of 0.50 carats, further set with sixteen round old mine diamonds of graduating sizes in open back cut down settings with a combined weight of 2.20 carats, and additionally set with two round rose cut diamonds in closed back cut down settings with a combined weight of 0.02 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.72 carats, to an elegant crescent brooch with finely pierced gallery and shaped backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure gold hinged pin and scroll clasp, approximately 3cm in width. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1880, accompanied by a fitted box.
