History of Berganza

Berganza Antique Jewellery

Hatton Garden originated as an area for workshops, from mounters and setters to diamond cutters, and some of the world’s top jewellery houses had their pieces crafted here. The lapidaries was first set up in the 1970s, specialising in the cutting and polishing of precious gemstones.

It was from here that our love affair with antique jewellery first began, after discovering that the rarest and most sought-after gems were set within these pieces.

Berganza History

We opened our first shop to display antique jewellery in the picturesque village of Long Melford in the 1980s.

It wasn’t long until the shop moved to Hatton Garden, to be closer to the workshops, and our buying department. Berganza is still located at 88-90 Hatton Garden today.
