This ring has been assessed by our in-house gemmologists:

The rubies are most likely to be from the old Burmese mines.
This is an exceptional ring of unusual composition, with the diamond featured centrally and surrounded by beautifully matching rubies of Burmese origin, which would have been an incredibly difficult feat to source!

Maurice Beck created exquisite jewels from 1898 to 1926. During the 1920's he made jewellery for René Boivin. His maker's mark, a four leaf clover, can be seen on this ring next to the eagle's head, the french hallmark for 18 carat gold.

Beck married Flora Huppert, aunt of poet Hugo Huppert, and invested in the Huppert family apartment building, at 6 Tuchmachergasse, Beilitz, Austria, today Poland.
