Set to centre with an octagonal emerald in an setting with an approximate weight of 1.65 , surrounded by twelve shape in open back claw and settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats, further set with 12 round diamonds in rub over settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats.The total diamond weight is approximately 1.62 carats, to an impressive elongated cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced and open backholing, with carved that taper through to a solid . 18 carat , French import mark, '25 anniv, Mai 1872', 1870.

Director's Notes

The ring has been assessed by our in house gemmologist, the emerald most likely to originate from old mines of Colombia and has minor presence of oil, settings permitting.

Introduced in 1893, the "hibou" (owl) stamp was used to signify that imported gold met minimum French quality standards.
