Diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to center with one round transitional cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weigh of 0.55 carats, encircled by eight round transitional cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.96 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.51 carats to an impressive coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to inwardly tapering shoulders with chenier detail and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow and palladium, mid 20th Century.

This ring is in excellent condition.
The metal was first used in jewellery in 1939, as an alternative to platinum, which was highly restricted after it was declared a strategic government resource during World War II due to its use in the war effort.
