Ancient Roman ring with jasper lion intaglio. Set with an oval jasper intaglio of a sitting lion underneath a tree in a closed back Roman set setting, encompassed by a fine wire border, the broad integrated shoulders highlighted with a scrolling wirework design and tapering to reverse. Tested yellow gold, approximately 5.70 grams in weight, circa 3rd century AD.
