The story of Marchak began in 1878 in Kiev when Joseph Marchak, a master jeweller, established his renowned jewellery house, earning the title "Cartier of Kiev." Known for his innovation and commitment to craftsmanship, Marchak's success led to his appointment as an official supplier to Tsar Nicholas II in 1913. However, the Russian Revolution and Joseph’s passing in 1918 forced the business to close. In 1919, his son Alexander revived the brand in Paris, introducing the cocktail ring and winning the Grand Prix at the 1925 Paris Decorative Arts Exhibition. The post-war era saw Marchak flourish under Alexander Diringer and Jacques Verger, creating some of the firm's most celebrated vintage designs. After nearly eight decades of family involvement, Verger expanded the brand internationally, attracting a prestigious clientele. Today, Marchak is once again family-owned, celebrated for its exquisite Art Deco and vintage creations, witnessed in this superb ring.
