Victorian diamond five stone ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in open back claw and grain settings with an approximate weight of 1.45 carats, further set with four round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.85 carats, further decorated with four round eight-cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.05 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.35 carats, to an exceptional graduated five stone carved ring featuring stylised claws, an ornate gallery with scrolling motifs and open and closed backholing, leading to carved shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Partial mark for 18 carat yellow gold and settings tested silver, numbered '3158', circa 1890.
