Victorian sapphire and diamond five stone ring. Set with three cushion shape mixed cut natural no heat sapphires in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.00 carats, further set with two round old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.65 carats and flanked by eight round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.15 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.80 carats, to an impressive five stone design featuring curved claws, an ornately carved gallery with a scrolling motif and square open backholing, leading to smoothly conforming shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, English, circa 1900, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5786-1528.
