Founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1879 by Robert Koch (1854–1902), Koch became one of Germany’s most prestigious jewellery houses. Joined by his brother Louis Koch (1862–1930), the firm earned an international reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, refined design, and royal patronage. Between 1898 and 1918, Koch created more than 700 tiaras and crowns, supplying European royal courts and aristocratic families. Often referred to as the “Cartier of Germany,” the family-owned house remained active until its closure in 1986.
