Pink Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with an octagonal mixed cut natural unenhanced pink Ceylon sapphire in an open back part-rubover setting with an approximate weight of 3.40 carats, flanked by four round transitional cut fancy colour diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.15 carats and further decorated with two round transitional cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.25 carats, to an impressive flanked solitaire featuring curving claws, polished edging, a smooth ridged gallery and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Tested rose gold, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5785-2606.
