Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with cushion shape old cut natural no heat Burmese ruby in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.80 carats, decorated with thirty round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further set with twenty-two rectangular calibre cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back channel settings with a combined weight of 0.75 carats. The total approximate ruby weight is 1.55 carats, to an elegant cluster design featuring polished edges, an intricately pierced gallery with scrolling motifs, and fancy shape open backholing, leading to split shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-35.
