Sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Centrally set with a kite shape step-cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.80 carats, surrounded by twenty cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and cut-down settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.40 carats, further set with four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats, flanked by eight cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.16 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.64 carats, to a kite shape cluster design with polished edging, a pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, leading to split shoulders and flowing through to a solid ridged D-shape shank. Tested platinum, silver and yellow gold, indistinct marking to exterior, circa 1905, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-919.
