 Description

Roman gold finger ring with eagle intaglio. Set with an impressive oval cornelian intaglio of an eagle with outstretched wings in a fine closed back Roman set setting with intricate threaded wirework and granulated borders, continuing down the flat thick shank with the same repeating patterned wirework. Tested yellow gold, approximately 6.85 grams in weight, circa 3rd to 4th century AD.

This ring is a skilful example of Ancient Roman craftsmanship and is in fine condition, commensurate with its age.
