Description

Ruby and diamond cross over ring. Set with a cushion shape natural unenhanced old cut ruby in an open back eight claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, adjacent to a round old cut diamond with a weight of 0.70 carats in an open back claw setting, flanked to the shoulders with eight round old mine diamonds in grain settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.94 carats, to an elegant cross over form with pierced claws, intricate backholing and scrolling shoulders, leading to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1910.
