Sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1920. To the centre is a cushion shape French cut sapphire with an approximate weight of 0.60 carats, vertically set between two round old cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.70 in total, all open back and claw set. Surrounding the central three stones is an octagonal pierced frame with a single row of twenty eight round eight cut diamonds, with an approximate weight of 0.56 carats, millegrain set with square back holing. The approximate total diamond weight is 1.26 carats. The supportive gallery has ornate pierced metal work leading to split shoulders and a ribbed solid shank. Tested platinum, circa 1920.
