 Description

Early gold ring with garnet. Set with an oval old cut garnet in a closed back rubover collet setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, engraved to the bezel in script 'TA', flanked by carved shoulders of intricate floral rosettes, tapering down the conforming band to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, Scotland, approximate weight 2.87g, circa 18th century AD.

Accompanied by Treasure Trove report #TTNC.2012/051, found in Carronbridge, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
