Antique cabochon Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a single natural unenhanced oval cabochon Burmese sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 2.95 carats, bordered by four cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, further encircled by a cluster of twenty six round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 2.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.20 carats, to an elegant oval scalloped cluster featuring an polished borders, a structured openwork gallery and intricate open backholing, leading to split shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1915, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #09419.
