Vertically set with two cushion shape old cutdiamonds in open backclaw settings with a combined weight of 1.10 carats, further set with twenty seven round rose cut diamonds of varying sizes in open back grain and millegrain settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.70 carats, to an ornate openwork cluster with curving cross overshoulders surrounded by elegant scrolling motifs, with intricate pierced backholing to a solid ridged shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, French control marks, circa 1900.
