Vintage Asscher cut diamond ring. Set with an octagonal asscher cut diamond, G colour, VS2 clarity, with an approximate weight of 1.12 carats, in an open back claw setting, further set with six round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.24 carats, to an elegant flanked solitaire design, featuring curving corner claws, a structured openwork gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting split shoulders flowing down to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1950, accompanied by Gemological Institute of America report #1159122021.
