Ancient Roman resin and gold decorative ring. Set with an oval bezel inlaid with a concentric channel of red resin with contrasting green resin to center, to an ornate and finely crafted solid shank composed of six raised rectangular panels with engraved saltires and ribbed pattern in between. Tested yellow gold, approximately 8.2g in weight, circa 3rd century AD, accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal.
This ring is very unusual in design, in excellent condition and a fine example of Ancient Roman craftsmanship.
