Three stone diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a round brilliant cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.95 carats, flanked by two round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, encircled by twenty four round eight cut diamonds in open back channel settings with a combined weight of 0.72 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.97 carats, to an oval openwork cluster featuring intricate curving claws, an undulating open gallery and circular open backholing, leading to raised inwardly tapering shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum and iridium, and mark for Whitehouse Bros American, circa 1950.

Founded in Cincinnati, Ohio at the end of the nineteenth century. By the 1920s, Whitehouse Bros. had become the largest manufacturing jeweller in America, employing over one hundred craftsmen. Many of these craftsmen were German or of German-descent, and were highly skilled in the use of platinum – a material in which Whitehouse Bros. continues to specialise.
