The circular is set with one central turquoise in a setting, encircled by six pearls and six smaller cabochon turquoises all in closed back settings, the locket opening to reveal a glass covered compartment containing a lock of brown hair, flanked by split set with four pearls and two cabochon turquoises all in closed back cutdown settings, and on a ridged tapered , the reverse of the bezel , ‘BA Thomson/ Obt 10 Mar/ 1837’. yellow , 1837.
