Yellow ring. Set with an octagonal no heat yellow Ceylon sapphire in an setting with an approximate weight of 15.00 , to an impressive east-west design featuring broad polished claws, shaped openwork throughout with polished borders and open backholing, leading to broad which taper through to a solid openwork with central ridged detail. 18 carat , French import mark, 1950, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5775-1179.

Yellow sapphires from the old Ceylon mines, such as this, are highly sought after, especially those that have not undergone heat treatment. These sapphires can be found in a range of different hues, from rich golden tones to paler lemony yellows. This particular sapphire displays a beautiful lighter colouration which is complimented by its rose gold setting. Created in a bombe style, this ring combines both drama and elegance, with its unique openwork details and impressive sapphire equally drawing the eye!
