Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 2.20 carats, further set with four round old cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.16 carats, bordered by a single row of round single cut diamonds, further diamond set to the shoulders, eighteen in total in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.45 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.61 carats, to an elegant openwork cluster with millegrain detail throughout, a finely pierced gallery and ornate open backholing, the shoulder sides with engraved Greek Key design and ridged decoration flowing through to a solid slim D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1905, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5776-4529.
