Dreicer & Co. amethyst, pearl and diamond pendant/brooch. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural amethyst in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 44.00 carats, encircled by twenty four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 3.50 carats and further decorated with twenty four pearls in closed back part drilled settings, all to an impressive cluster brooch featuring curving claws, and fancy open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure hinge pin and C-clasp, and hinged bail, and accompanied by removable chain, pendant/brooch approximately 4cm in length, chain approximately 26.7" in length. Pendant/brooch tested gold and platinum, chain marked 9 carat rose gold, signed 'Jacob Dreicer' for Dreicer & Co., American, circa 1900.

Jacob Dreicer, founder of Dreicer & Co., established the firm as one of America’s most prestigious jewelry houses at the turn of the 20th century. Serving a newly affluent clientele, the house drew inspiration from European fashion, creating refined jewels in a style long associated with the old continent’s elite and royal circles, and became particularly renowned for popularising pearls in America.
