Mellerio Ruby and diamond set fob watch. Set with twelve cushion shape old cut natural no heat Burmese rubies in open back claw and cutdown settings with an approximate total weight of 1.20 carats, highlighted by thirty two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a weight of 1.00 carats, and further enhanced by one hundred and ninety three round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain settings with a combined weight of 1.93 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.93 carats, to an elegantly formed fob watch pendant, the surmount with trefoil motif proceeding to curling shoulders with intricately pierced backholing and securely fastening hinged pin with scroll latch, suspending a removable watch with a fitted top winder and circular body, with two yellow gold hands to the dial and surrounded by a diamond set border, set to the reverse with a bombé shaped cluster and raised floral decoration on a hinge mechanism, approximately 4.8cm in length. Marked yellow gold and platinum, maker's mark and signed 'MELLERIO DITS MELLER, Rue de la Paix, PARIS' to the reverse of the mechanism, French, early 20th Century, accompanied by original fitted case.
