This piece is in good condition commensurate with its age.
In the early part of the 20th century, Cartier produced exquisite convertible jewels that combined technical ingenuity with the airy, lace-like elegance of the Belle Époque. As one of the earliest jewellers to embrace platinum, Cartier used the metal’s strength and lightness to mount diamonds in delicate yet flexible structures, creating jewels designed to be worn in multiple ways.

This 1912 example perfectly illustrates that philosophy: set with over 250 old-cut diamonds, its finely articulated links allow the jewel to separate into two bracelets, demonstrating Cartier’s superior craftsmanship and flair for versatility.

Furthermore, it is likely that this piece was once able to further convert into a Belle Époque bandeau, suggested by screw fittings to the reverse of the settings.
