Sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a natural unenhanced cushion shape old cut sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, further set with four cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with millegrain edging with a combined approximate weight of 0.20 carats, and decorated with forty four round rose cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.88 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.08 carats, to an elegant cluster design with millegrain edges, an intricately pierced gallery with scrolling motifs and chenier details, and fancy open backholing, leading to tapering split shoulders with foliate motifs and flowing through to a ridged shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, marked '7807' and indistinct maker's mark, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5785-0728.
