Description

Edwardian sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, further set with six round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.85 carats, flanked by two round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.05 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, leading to smooth shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and settings tested platinum, inscribed 'P.M.M.', circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-714.
