The total approximate diamond weight is 1.60 carats, to an impressive crossover design featuring curving claws, a pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with millegrain edging flowing through a tapering D-shapeshank. Marked 18 yellow carat gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) report #5782-833.
Cross over rings were first popularized in the late 18th century, when a young Napoleon presented Joséphine with a sapphire and diamond crossover engagement ring.
