 Description

Chaumet Burmese ruby and diamond cluster ring. Set with six oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.50 carats, further set with eight round transitional cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.44 carats, to an impressive cluster design featuring curving claws, a structural open gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to a-symmetric split shoulders and flowing through to a solid shank. Marked platinum and yellow gold, signed 'Chaumet', indisctinct maker's mark, French import marks, circa 1960, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #81313-10.

 Comments

The history of Chaumet has been entwined with the history of France ever since its founding in 1780, in Paris. Chaumet have been creating tiaras and exceptional pieces of high jewellery for over 240 years and were even the official jeweller to Empress Josephine! With their workshop based in the heart of the Parisian high jewellery area, Place Vendôme, Chaumet are known for creating pieces that are synonymous with fine Parisian taste and exquisite craftsmanship.
