 Description

Ruby and diamond ring by Cartier. Set with sixteen round brilliant cut natural unenhanced rubies to two horizontally set tapered rows in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 6.00 carats, alternated by three rows of tapered round brilliant cut diamonds, twenty three in total with an approximate combined weight of 4.50 carats in open back grain and claw settings. The five rows are set to a curving bombé form, conforming to the finger with an inward linear structure to the openwork gallery with intricate honeycomb backholing, flowing smoothly round to split tri-part shoulders and a ridged tapered solid shank. Marked platinum and iridium, maker's mark 'CARTIER', numbered '17024', American, circa 1950, accompanied by Cartier box.
