Viking gold band ring. A gold ring, formed from a single wire, with each end wrapping tightly around the shank in a decorative twist design, approximately 2.5mm in width at the widest point. Tested yellow gold, approximately 6.32 grams in weight, circa 9th-11th century.

Complex rings composed solely from a single wire were a popular style for Viking craftsmen, made usually from bronze or silver, this particular ring is a rare museum quality example all in gold.
