Sasanian gold ring with nicolo intaglio of profile bust. Set with a round onyx nicolo intaglio intricately engraved with a bust in profile with hair top-knot, in a domed closed back rubover raised collet setting, flanked by smoothly conforming shoulders and leading through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 6.2g in weight, circa 224-651 AD.
