 Description

Post Medieval gold posy ring 'Prise Time'. A plain D-shape band engraved to the interior in italic script 'Prise Time', approximately 3.5mm in width. Tested yellow gold, approximately 2.7 grams in weight, 17th-18th century.

This ring was found on Knapton Moor, Wyevale, Yorkshire in 1995. Accompanied by a letter from the Coroner of North Yorkshire disclaiming this ring as Treasure.

There is no extant record of any posy ring bearing this inscription, see Evans, J., 'English Posies and Posy Rings'.
