Old mine diamond solitaire ring, circa 1940. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, to an elegant solitaire featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery with heart motifs and open circular backholing, leading to raised split shoulders and following through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, tested white gold, circa 1940.
