Set to centre with a single oval cabochon natural unenhanced garnet in a closed backrubover setting with an approximate weight of 7.40 carats, to an oval bezel with polished edges and flat closed back, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with abstract granule and wirework detailing flowing through to a solid tapering shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 14th- 15th century.
Accompanied by documentation from the Portable Antiquities Scheme stating that this ring was found whilst metal detecting in West Lindsey, Lincolnshire in August 2016. It is recorded with the Portable Antiquities Scheme under reference number LANCUM-1CA6A2.
This ring is in very fine condition and features intricate decorative details showing a high level of craftsmanship.
