Description

Diamond cocktail ring, American, circa 1940. A platinum and iridium ring set with one central round old cut diamond in a claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, surrounded by a flared asymmetrical bezel composed of two curved bands of sixteen round old cut diamonds in bead settings with and approximate total weight of 0.32 carats, and two flared elements set with eighteen rectangular baguette cut diamonds in channel settings, above an openwork geometric gallery, flanked by raised shoulders set with two rectangular baguette cut diamonds, all twenty baguette cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 0.90 carats, on a D-shaped shank, and with an approximate combined diamond weight of 2.07 carats.
From the family of the eminent American author J.D. Salinger, who’s most notable work was The Catcher in the Rye (1951).
