Description

Diamond and ruby cocktail ring, circa 1940. A yellow gold and platinum ring set with one central round old cut diamond in a platinum rubover collet setting with an approximate weight of 0.90 carats, set into an asymmetrical flared bezel, flanked on one side by a platinum half cylinder form set with three round old cut diamonds in bead settings, and on the other side a flared convex form set with fourteen round old cut diamonds in platinum bead settings, all seventeen smaller diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.50 carats, bordered on top and bottom with a single row of channel set step cut rubies with an approximate total weight of 1.60 carats, above a pierced gallery set with cheniers, and set to a heavy yellow gold tapered flat shank.
