Burmese sapphire and diamond drop earrings. A matching pair of earrings, each set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back rubover setting, two in total with a combined approximate weight of 2.80 carats, further set above with three round old cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings, six in total with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, further enhanced with forty two round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings eighty four in total with a combined weight of 1.68 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.98 carats, to an elegant articulated drop earring, flowing with movement, featuring an openwork oval design with millegrain edging, finely pierced galleries and fancy open backholing, fitted securely to the reverse with a post and butterfly, approximately 4 cm in length. Earring and butterfly tested platinum, circa 1925, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #81294-48.
