Art Nouveau ruby and diamond ring. Set with one central cushion shape old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.70 carats, further set with one round cushion shape old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with a weight of 0.35 carats, enhanced by nine round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced rubies in open back claw settings with an approximate total weight of 0.50 carats. The combined approximate diamond weight is 1.35 carats, to a four stone cluster design featuring scrolling details, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shape backholing, leading to smooth shoulders and flowing through to a tapering D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1895.
