Art Deco Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.58 carats, flanked by eight round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.16 carats, to a linear design featuring curving double claws, polished edges, an openwork gallery with intricate square backholing and gently sloping shoulders, flowing down to a solid tapered D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1935, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5774-224.
