Antique pearl bird brooch. A brooch in the form of a bird with one round old cut natural unenhanced ruby eye in a closed back grain setting, flying through an undulating ribbon all set with one hundred and thirty five natural half pearls in closed back grain settings, the reverse mounted with a hinged pin and safety clasp, also with safety chain and pin. Marked 15 carat yellow gold, English, circa 1880.
