 Description

Victorian hawk's eye quartz and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with one oval cabochon natural hawk’s eye quartz in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 5.00 carats, encircled by a single row of eighteen cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with an approximate total weight of 1.20 carats, to a carved coronet cluster featuring stylised claws, an intricately pierced gallery with circular motifs and open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders carved with a heart and foliate decoration and flowing through to a ridged half round shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1890.
