Antique emerald and diamond marquise shape cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine cut natural emerald with no colour enhancement in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.45 carats, surrounded by seventeen cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.90 carats, further adorned by two round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.02 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.92 carats, to a marquise shape cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy open backholing, the slightly raised tapering shoulders flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1900.
